Russell was born in Chicago, the grandson of four Scandinavian immigrants. He grew up in San Diego California and has lived in Portland and Bend Oregon, Seattle Washington and Stockholm Sweden. Russell is currently living in Atlantic Beach Florida. Russell has been writing since he was 14 years old. He is also a folk musician with 5 original CDs, and event and portrait photographer, amateur genealogist and an avid international traveler.
