About the author

Born with a pen in hand (or so the legend goes), KJ has been captivated by the art of writing since the moment she discovered that crafting words was far more exhilarating than munching on crayons.

But don't let her frightful tales fool you—KJ isn't all doom and gloom. She believes in the power of the written word and its ability to move and inspire those that read it, not just in the horror genre, but across the vast tapestry of imagination. When KJ isn't weaving chilling narratives, she enjoys venturing into young adult-fiction, fantasy, and even poetry.

While KJ obtained her undergraduate degree in European History rather than English, she assures her readers that there is plenty of macabre, death, and fearsome research papers found in such studies to give her a leg up in the horror writing world. If that weren’t terrifying enough, in her quest for knowledge, KJ pursued her Master’s in Business Management and a paralegal certification. She now sits on her throne of most peculiar educational pairings as she pursues a career that requires none of it.

KJ was raised and currently resides in the wild, untamed lands of the western United States. Nestled in the picturesque state of Utah, she shares a home with her husband, who is her beacon of sanity (most of the time), their endlessly curious young son, a trusty corgi, and an incorrigible cat who perpetually schemes from atop the bookshelf, concocting diabolical plans.

She extends heartfelt gratitude to the brave readers who have granted an unknown writer like herself the opportunity to share her debut book, The Nightmare Gazette. KJ hopes to continue her literary journey, exploring the realms of horror and beyond, and looks forward to the mysteries to come.

And always remember, when things go bump in the night, it might just be the sound of her next story clawing its way into existence.
